altitude and atmospheric pressure
Altitude refers to the vertical distance or height above sea level or a given reference point. Atmospheric pressure, on the other hand, is the force per unit area exerted by the weight of the Earth's atmosphere on a surface. As altitude increases, atmospheric pressure generally decreases.
