Eye damage, also known as retinopathy, refers to a condition in which there is damage to the retina, the sensitive tissue located at the back of the eye. This damage to the retina can be caused by various factors such as diabetes, high blood pressure, or certain genetic conditions. It can lead to vision problems, including blurred or distorted vision, loss of peripheral vision, and in severe cases, permanent vision loss.
