fuel tuning

Fuel tuning refers to the adjustment or calibration of a vehicle’s fuel delivery system, typically through its electronic control module (ECM), to optimize the fuel-air mixture and improve engine performance, fuel economy, and emissions. This can involve computations of the air-fuel ratio and modifications to fuel injection timing, duration, and pressure in order to deliver the ideal amount of fuel at the correct time and under different driving conditions. Fuel tuning is often done with aftermarket software or hardware to achieve specific tuning goals, such as better throttle response, increased horsepower and torque, improved drivability, or reduced emissions.
