index arbitrage
Index arbitrage is a trading strategy that involves taking advantage of price discrepancies between an index and its underlying components to earn profits. Traders simultaneously buy or sell a portfolio of stocks or futures contracts to capitalize on temporary imbalances in pricing, based on the belief that these disparities will eventually correct themselves.
