internet protocol version 6 (ipv6)
IPv6, or Internet Protocol Version 6, is the updated version of the Internet Protocol (IP) used to identify and communicate with devices on the internet. It expands the limited number of unique addresses offered by the older IPv4 protocol, allowing for an exponentially greater number of devices to be connected and ensuring the continued growth of the internet.
