Lipid abnormalities, or dyslipidemia, refers to abnormal levels or distribution of lipids (fats) in the blood. This can involve high levels of cholesterol, triglycerides, or low levels of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, which can lead to an increased risk of developing cardiovascular diseases such as atherosclerosis.
