Magnetic hysteresis is the tendency of a magnetic material to retain some magnetism even after the external magnetic field has been removed. This residual magnetism occurs due to the lag in the alignment and re-alignment of magnetic domains within the material, causing a delay in magnetization and demagnetization processes.
