masked priming
Masked priming refers to a technique used in psychology and cognitive science research, where a briefly presented stimulus, known as the prime, is quickly followed by another stimulus, known as the target, which is typically a word or an image. The prime stimulus is presented very briefly and is often masked or disguised so that participants are not consciously aware of its content. This technique is used to study unconscious or implicit cognitive processes by examining how the prime affects the processing or perception of the subsequent target stimulus.
