maturity-onset diabetes of the young (mody)
Maturity-onset diabetes of the young (MODY) is a type of diabetes that typically develops before the age of 25 and is caused by inherited gene mutations. It is characterized by high blood sugar levels, but unlike other types of diabetes, it is not related to insulin resistance. MODY usually has a milder course compared to other forms of diabetes and can be managed with lifestyle changes or oral medications instead of insulin injections.
