moorish invasions
The Moorish invasions refer to a series of military campaigns conducted by Muslim forces from North Africa, known as Moors, into the Iberian Peninsula (modern-day Spain and Portugal) between the 8th and 15th centuries. These invasions resulted in the establishment of Islamic territories, known as Al-Andalus, and significant cultural, social, and religious influences in the region.
