neurogenesis and neural regeneration

Neurogenesis refers to the process of generating new nerve cells, or neurons, in the brain. It involves the production, migration, and integration of these newly formed neurons. On the other hand, neural regeneration refers to the ability of the nervous system to repair and replace damaged or lost neurons, typically after injury or disease. It involves the growth and reconnection of damaged nerve cells in order to restore normal functioning. Both neurogenesis and neural regeneration are fundamental processes that contribute to brain development, repair, and maintenance.
