phosphors

Phosphors are luminescent materials that emit visible light when stimulated by certain forms of energy, such as electron bombardment, ultraviolet radiation, or blue light. These materials absorb the energy and then re-emit it in the form of visible light, providing brightness and color to a variety of devices and applications, including fluorescent lamps, cathode ray tubes (CRTs), light-emitting diodes (LEDs), and television screens.
