prediabetes and gestational diabetes
Prediabetes refers to a condition in which a person's blood sugar levels are higher than normal but not high enough to be diagnosed as diabetes. It is a warning sign that indicates a higher risk of developing type 2 diabetes in the future. Gestational diabetes, on the other hand, is a specific type of diabetes that develops during pregnancy. It affects pregnant women who have high blood sugar levels and usually goes away after the baby is born. However, it increases the risk of the mother and the child developing type 2 diabetes later in life.
