preimplantation genetic diagnosis
Preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) is a procedure used during in-vitro fertilization wherein embryos created are screened for genetic abnormalities or mutations before being transferred into the uterus, allowing parents to select embryos free of certain inherited disorders or diseases.
