reductionism and complexity
Reductionism refers to the approach of explaining complex phenomena by breaking them down into simpler, more fundamental components or principles. It assumes that understanding the parts will lead to understanding the whole. Complexity, on the other hand, refers to the intricate and interconnected nature of phenomena or systems.
