ss (schutzstaffel)

The term "SS" refers to the Schutzstaffel, a paramilitary organization established by Adolf Hitler in Nazi Germany. Functioning primarily as his personal bodyguard, the SS grew to become a powerful and notorious force within the Third Reich. It was responsible for numerous atrocious acts during World War II, including running concentration and extermination camps, carrying out genocide against millions of people, and enforcing Hitler's racial policies.
