uranium enrichment
Uranium enrichment is the process of increasing the concentration of uranium-235 isotopes in the naturally occurring uranium-238. This is done by several methods such as gas diffusion, gas centrifugation, and laser enrichment. The enriched uranium is commonly used as fuel in nuclear power plants or as a component in nuclear weapons.
