uv radiation and skin cancer
UV radiation refers to high-energy rays emitted by the sun that can penetrate the skin and cause damage to DNA within skin cells. Prolonged or intense exposure to UV radiation increases the risk of developing skin cancer, a disease characterized by the uncontrolled growth of abnormal skin cells.
