valvular heart disease
Valvular heart disease refers to conditions affecting the heart valves, which are responsible for the proper flow of blood in and out of the heart chambers. It occurs when the valves become diseased, leading to either narrowing (stenosis) or leakage (regurgitation) of blood, thereby impairing normal blood flow and function of the heart.
