active galactic nuclei
Active galactic nuclei (AGN) are extremely energetic regions at the center of galaxies that emit luminous radiation across various wavelengths, including radio, X-ray, and gamma-ray. These nuclei are powered by the accretion of mass onto supermassive black holes, leading to intense emission and the formation of jets and other high-energy phenomenon.
