amp-activated protein kinase (ampk)
AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) is an enzyme found in cells that regulates energy metabolism by sensing and responding to changes in cellular energy levels. It is responsible for increasing energy production and reducing energy consumption when cells are low in ATP, which is the primary source of energy in cells.
