Bohdan Chmielnicki's uprising refers to a major rebellion led by Cossack Hetman Bohdan Chmielnicki against Polish rule in the mid-17th century. This uprising, also known as the Khmelnytsky Uprising, aimed to secure greater autonomy and rights for the Ukrainian Cossacks. It resulted in significant violence and ultimately led to the partitions of Ukraine between Poland-Lithuania and Russia.
