cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes

Cardiovascular disease refers to a group of conditions that affect the heart and blood vessels, including conditions like coronary artery disease, heart failure, and stroke. It is often caused by the buildup of fatty deposits in the arteries, leading to restricted blood flow and increased risk of heart attacks. Type 2 diabetes, on the other hand, is a chronic metabolic disorder where the body becomes resistant to insulin or doesn't produce enough insulin. Insulin is necessary for the body to process glucose (sugar) effectively, resulting in high blood sugar levels. Diabetes can lead to various complications, including damage to the blood vessels, heart, and other organs. Both cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes are interconnected, as individuals with diabetes are at a higher risk of developing cardiovascular problems due to the underlying damage to blood vessels caused by high blood sugar levels and insulin resistance.
