chromatic dispersion
Chromatic dispersion refers to the spreading and distortion of optical signals caused by different wavelengths (colors) of light traveling at different speeds through a medium, such as an optical fiber. This dispersion can cause a degradation of the signal quality, resulting in errors and reduced data transmission capacity.
