nonlinear dispersion
Nonlinear dispersion refers to a situation where the relationship between the frequency or the wave number of a wave and its dispersion relation is not linear. In other words, it describes the behavior of waves where the change in frequency or wave number is not directly proportional to the change in the dispersion relation.
