david hume
David Hume (1711-1776) was a Scottish philosopher, economist, and historian who is best known for his empiricist approach to knowledge and his influential contributions to moral philosophy. He argued that all knowledge comes from sensory experience and that reason alone cannot justify knowledge claims. Hume also questioned the existence of causation and the self, advocating for skepticism and empirical inquiry as the basis for understanding the world.
