delayed fluorescence
Delayed fluorescence refers to the emission of light by a substance after a delay following its absorption of photons or energy. It occurs when excited states of molecules, typically in luminescent materials, transition to a lower energy level with a time delay. This phenomenon is useful in a variety of scientific and technological applications, such as in organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), solar cells, and fluorescent imaging techniques.
