evolutionary arms race
The evolutionary arms race is a process by which species evolve adaptations to compete against each other for survival or reproductive advantage. These adaptations may include physical traits, behaviors, or biochemical mechanisms that allow one species to outcompete or avoid being preyed upon by another. The arms race continues as each species develops new strategies and defenses in response to the other, leading to ongoing and often rapid changes in the traits of both species.
