excitatory and inhibitory receptors
Excitatory and inhibitory receptors are protein molecules found on the surface of cells, particularly nerve cells. Excitatory receptors stimulate or activate the cell, resulting in the transmission of nerve signals. In contrast, inhibitory receptors inhibit or suppress the activity of the cell, reducing the transmission of nerve signals.
