gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (gc-ms)
Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) is an analytical technique that combines the separation capabilities of gas chromatography with the identification and quantification capabilities of mass spectrometry. It uses heat and a carrier gas to vaporize and separate the components of a sample, followed by mass spectrometry which measures the structures and masses of the separated components, providing detailed information about the composition of the sample.
