The glycemic index of fruits is a measurement that indicates how quickly and greatly a particular fruit can raise blood sugar levels when consumed, on a scale of 0 to 100. Lower glycemic index fruits are digested and absorbed more slowly, causing a slower and steadier increase in blood sugar levels, while higher glycemic index fruits lead to a faster and larger increase in blood sugar levels.
