The Herero and Nama genocide refers to a systematic and deliberate campaign of extermination carried out by German colonial forces against the indigenous Herero and Nama peoples in what is now Namibia from 1904 to 1908. It involved forced displacement, mass killings, forced labor, and inhumane conditions, resulting in the deaths of approximately 75,000 Herero and 10,000 Nama people.
