ketosis and cancer treatment
Ketosis is a metabolic state where the body primarily uses fat for energy instead of carbohydrates, leading to the production of molecules called ketones. In relation to cancer treatment, ketosis has gained attention as a potential therapeutic approach. It involves following a low-carbohydrate, high-fat diet, known as the ketogenic diet, to deprive cancer cells of their preferred fuel source, glucose. This metabolic shift may enhance the efficacy of conventional cancer treatments or inhibit tumor growth.
