preferential attachment
Preferential attachment is a phenomenon that is often observed in social networks or networks with evolving structures, where new nodes tend to attach preferentially to well-connected nodes or entities that already have a large number of connections. In other words, nodes with a high degree of connectivity are more likely to attract new connections, creating a self-reinforcing mechanism that leads to the formation of highly connected hubs.
