prisoner's dilemma
The prisoner's dilemma is a situation in game theory where two individuals face a choice between cooperating with each other or betraying each other for personal gain. The optimal outcome for both is to cooperate, but due to the risk of the other person betraying, the dominant strategy is often to betray, which leads to a suboptimal outcome for both.
