dpp-4 inhibitors
DPP-4 inhibitors are a type of medication used to lower blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes. They work by blocking the action of an enzyme called dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4), which helps regulate the release of insulin. By inhibiting DPP-4, these medications increase insulin production and decrease the production of a hormone called glucagon, resulting in better blood glucose control.
