sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors
Sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors, or SGLT2 inhibitors, are a class of medications used to lower blood sugar levels in individuals with type 2 diabetes. These drugs work by blocking a specific protein in the kidneys responsible for reabsorbing glucose, leading to increased glucose excretion in urine and thereby reducing blood glucose levels.
