fructose malabsorption
Fructose malabsorption is a digestive disorder characterized by the inability of the body to effectively absorb fructose, a type of sugar found in various fruits, vegetables, and sweeteners. This condition occurs when the small intestine lacks the necessary enzymes to break down and absorb fructose properly. Consequently, undigested fructose passes into the large intestine, causing symptoms such as bloating, gas, abdominal pain, and diarrhea.
