insulin resistance and aging
Insulin resistance is a condition where the body's cells become less responsive to insulin, a hormone that helps regulate blood sugar levels. This reduced sensitivity to insulin leads to higher levels of glucose in the blood, which can eventually result in the development of type 2 diabetes. Aging is the natural process of getting older, characterized by biological changes that occur over time. Insulin resistance and aging are closely linked, as aging can contribute to the development of insulin resistance, and insulin resistance may accelerate the aging process and increase the risk of age-related diseases.
