man-in-the-middle (mitm) attack
A man-in-the-middle (MITM) attack is a malicious tactic wherein an attacker intercepts and alters the communication between two parties without their knowledge. The attacker positions themselves between the parties, impersonating both ends to gain access to sensitive information, manipulate data, or perform unauthorized actions.
