man-in-the-middle attack
A "man-in-the-middle attack" is a type of cyber attack where a malicious actor intercepts communication between two parties without their knowledge. The attacker can then eavesdrop on the communication, manipulate the data being exchanged, or impersonate one of the parties to gain access to sensitive information.
