tokaimura nuclear accident
The Tokaimura nuclear accident was a Japanese nuclear disaster that occurred on September 30, 1999, at a uranium processing plant in Tokai, Ibaraki Prefecture. It was caused by a criticality accident that resulted in a nuclear chain reaction and the release of a large amount of radioactive material. The accident caused two deaths and several injuries, making it one of the worst nuclear disasters in Japan's history.
