diabetic ketoacidosis and hypoglycemia
Diabetic ketoacidosis is a serious complication of diabetes where the body produces high levels of blood acids called ketones due to a lack of insulin. This condition can lead to a life-threatening imbalance and requires immediate medical intervention. Hypoglycemia, on the other hand, is a condition characterized by abnormally low blood sugar levels. It occurs when there is too much insulin in the body or insufficient glucose intake. Hypoglycemia can cause dizziness, confusion, weakness, and in severe cases, loss of consciousness. Prompt treatment, usually involving quick ingestion of sugar or carbohydrates, is necessary to prevent complications.
