topological semigroups
Topological semigroups refer to algebraic structures that combine the properties of both semigroups and topological spaces. It is a set equipped with a binary operation and a topology such that the operation is continuous with respect to the topology. In other words, it is a semigroup where the multiplication operation is continuous when considering the elements as points in a topological space.
